Help Us Build the 2027 Forms: An Open Call for Member Feedback

YBAA's standardized forms are among the most practical tools we offer members, who use them to list boats, write offers, and take deals to closing. You know better than anyone where the language holds up and where it gets in your way.

As we start work on the 2027 versions, we're asking for your feedback on the 2026 forms.

The forms under review

All of these forms are available as fillable PDFs in the members-only Resources area of ybaa.org:

  • US Central Listing Agreement. The exclusive-right-of-sale listing.
  • US Open Listing Agreement. The non-exclusive listing.
  • CA Open Listing Agreement. The Canadian open listing, with provincial arbitration and English-language provisions.
  • US Purchase and Sale Agreement. From deposit and survey through acceptance and closing.
  • Know Your Client (KYC) Form. New for 2026. If you've used it in your deals this year, we especially want to hear how it went.

For background on last year's updates, see the full summary of 2026 changes.

To find the forms: go to ybaa.org and click Member Login (the red button in the top right corner). Sign in, then choose Resources from the menu. The forms are listed on the left side of the screen. If you haven't set a password on the new YBAA website yet, click "Don't have an account? Create One."

What we'd like to hear

There's no wrong kind of feedback. The most useful comments usually fall into these areas:

  • Clarity. Language that confuses clients or that you find yourself explaining over and over.
  • Real-world friction. Clauses that slow a deal down, cause pushback, or regularly need an addendum to work.
  • Gaps. Situations the forms don't cover but should, such as new regulations, cross-border deals, electronic signatures, or new types of buyers.
  • Consistency. Places where the listing agreements and the Purchase and Sale Agreement don't line up, or where the U.S. and Canadian versions differ without a clear reason.
  • Errors. Typos, broken cross-references, and duplicated clauses. Please flag them. No detail is too small.

How to share your feedback

Deadline: October 31, 2026

Please share your comments by October 31, 2026. Whether it's a single clause or a whole list, your input will help shape the 2027 forms that every member relies on.
