YBAA has been shaped for more than a century by yacht sales professionals willing to contribute their time, experience, and perspective to the industry. The association's education, professional standards, advocacy, and CPYB credential all depend on members who are willing to step forward and serve.
That work continues today. Earlier this year, the YBAA Board of Directors met at the Bradenton Yacht Club to establish the association's 2026–2028 Strategic Plan, organized around three priorities: Professional Education, Professional Excellence, and Professional Standards.
Carrying those priorities forward requires more than a plan. It requires members willing to help put it into action.
Opportunities to Serve
YBAA is currently accepting volunteer interest for several leadership and committee positions:
- Board of Directors — Help guide the association's strategic direction, governance, and long-term priorities.
- Professional Standards & Ethics Committee — Support the standards and ethical practices that define professional yacht brokerage.
- External Relations Committee — Strengthen YBAA's relationships with industry partners, allied associations, and the broader marine industry.
- Membership Committee — Help strengthen recruitment, retention, engagement, and the value YBAA delivers to its members.
Members may also indicate interest in serving on another committee or identify an area where their experience could benefit the association.
Who Should Get Involved?
There is no single profile for a strong YBAA volunteer. Industry experience and CPYB certification are valuable, but so are new perspectives, different areas of expertise, and a willingness to contribute.
A broker early in their career may see opportunities differently than someone who has worked through several market cycles. Both perspectives matter. Bringing those experiences together helps YBAA make better decisions and ensures the association continues to represent the professionals it serves.
Volunteer service also creates an opportunity to work alongside peers who care about the future of yacht brokerage, build relationships across the industry, and have a direct voice in the programs and standards that support the profession.
Make Your Interest Known
Members interested in serving are encouraged to complete the Volunteer Interest Form.
The form asks for basic contact information, areas of interest, industry experience, and a brief explanation of why you would like to serve and what you can bring to the role.
YBAA is grateful to the members who have given their time and expertise over the years. If you are ready to help shape what comes next, we encourage you to get involved.
