Advantage…CPYB

Are you looking for a way to differentiate your business from the competition? We were and did! It occurred to us that we were not promoting a major benefit that we held, the CPYB Endorsed Brokerage Program.  An accomplishment that each of us had a part in attaining and were proud of achieving.  Only a small percentage of companies have realized this distinction.

As a past member of the YBAA Board of Directors, I recall many conversations about how best to get the word out to the consumer about the CPYB program, how to educate the public as to the meaning of “CPYB” and also how working with a CPYB can prove beneficial for them.

We decided to achieve both goals by making the CPYB Endorsed Brokerage Logo and “What is a Certified Professional Broker” a major focal point of our display at the New England Boat Show. Imagine the impact if there were a dozen of these displays at boat shows around the country! The effort would certainly lead to better public awareness of the program and the professionalism held within our industry. Please consider what you can do personally, as a CPYB yacht sales professional or as a CPYB Endorsed Brokerage member, to better expose the CPYB brand to the public and the recreational marine industry.

Doug has been sailing and working on boats since his early teens. What started as sailing catamarans and helping at the boatyard on weekends turned into a lifetime career in the boat industry. Doug has worked for several boat dealerships and a sailboat steering company during his more than 43 year career. He has been the manager of Eastern Yacht Sales, Inc. since 1989 and now oversees day to day operations for all EYS locations.
